Recipe ingredients and directions:

 

6 cups Anjou pears cut into ½ “ thick slices

1 tbs fresh lemon juice

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1 tbs cornstarch

1-1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/3 cup flour

½ cup packed brown sugar

½ tsp salt

3 tbs chilled butter

1/3 cup regular oats

¼ cup chopped walnuts

 

Preheat oven to 375˚.  Combine pears and lemon juice in a 2 quart baking dish.  Toss gently to coat.  Combine granulated sugar, cornstarch and 1 tsp cinnamon with a whisk.  Add cornstarch to pear mixture, toss to coat.  Spoon flour, ½ tsp cinnamon, brown sugar and salt into food processor.  Pulse two times, add chilled butter.  Pulse six times, add oats and walnuts.  Pulse two times, sprinkle flour mixture over pear mixture.  Bake at 375˚ for 40 minutes.  Cool 25 minutes.

Serve with vanilla ice cream.
