Recipe ingredients and directions:
1 qt of blackberries (or
other berries, if you wish)
1 tbs of lemon juice
1/3 tsp cinnamon
1 cup of flour
1 cup of granulated sugar
1/2 cup of butter
Wash berries and put them into a lightly
greased square baking dish. Sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of flour over berries
and mix. Sprinkle berries with lemon juice and cinnamon. In a small mixing bowl, sift flour with
sugar. Work in butter with a pastry blender or by hand until crumbly.
Spread this butter/flour/sugar mixture over
the berries. Bake in a 400˚ oven for 45 minutes, until topping is golden.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Recipe anecdote: My Aunt Dori used to make this for us every summer when I was a little girl.....it was my favorite!
She'd send us kids out to pick fresh blackberries & then we'd get to help her make it. She served it warm with vanilla ice cream.....yum!
