Recipe ingredients and directions:

 

1 cup cheddar cheese, grated

¼ cup butter

½ cup flour

½ tsp paprika

1 pinch salt

25 olives with pimentos (drained on a paper towel)

 

  1. Soften butter and mix with cheese.
  2. Mix flour, paprika and salt.
  3. Add flour mixture to cheese.
  4. Wrap around olives, sealing completely.
  5. Place on cookie sheet and freeze.
  6. When frozen place in plastic bag and store until needed.
  7. Bake at 400° for 12-15 minutes.
  8. Remove from sheet immediately and serve.

Recipe anecdote:   This is a wonderful appetizer that I remember my mother, Nancy Jerome, making from about 1958 forward.  It goes great with martinis – the very dry kind!  Susan Barksdale
