Recipe ingredients and directions:

 

1 medium fryer, cut

½ cup soy sauce

½ cup sugar

1 tsp ginger, chopped or ground

2 tsps sherry wine

 

Cut chicken and marinate in the soy sauce, sugar, ginger and sherry mixture (the chicken is best if marinated overnight).

 

Place chicken in a pan with skin side down.  Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes.  Turn the chicken over and baste when it is half-done (about 15-20 minutes).
